Doing our bit for the driver shortage

Feeling proud about something has to be one of my favourite emotions. How about you? As such, I was happy to have ‘a very proud moment’ the other day when an old friend from over 30 years ago called seeking some advice on a truck he was looking at.
Before you ask, no, I didn’t put him off so I could sell him something else because at the time I didn’t actually have anything as we all continue to suffer under the current stock situation. What I did do was offer my knowledge and, following my positive advice, Adrian from Logistics Training Services (LTS) in Sheffield made his own decision.
Adrian and I sat in my office and drank tea. As we were talking, I thought of someone I hadn’t heard from for a while, a person who I occasionally buy the odd truck from. This person was someone who would really look after them and be ideal for Adrian and his wife Allyson.
After a week of coming and going and having to pay 50% more than I had 12 months ago, a deal was done, and I knew that I could help Adrian and Allyson. I even jumped in the car and drove the truck back myself.
Here I am in the photo, (still convinced it is summer of course!) feeling very proud to hand over the vehicle to Allyson.

Ultimately, LTS trusted in experience and honesty, and soon this lovely Mercedes Actros 24-45 will be sporting the name of Allyson’s late father and helping to address the driver shortage by being used as a much-needed driver training vehicle.
Good luck guys!
