The power of positivity

It was always my intention not to be selfish with my posts on here. I’d really like to try and do some good for people in and outside of my industry, either through funny or inspirational notes, anecdotes or jokes.

I love my work and, more importantly, the people who I have the opportunity to meet while doing my job. Going on my own has allowed me the opportunity to surround myself with people who are of the same mental attitude. Being positive can be quite tiring, especially when things are just not going your way, BUT, by surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals helps build your strength and march on to success despite whatever the day, week, month or year throws at you.

So, if today isn’t your day, remember a day when you helped someone around you. Give them a shout and see if they can cheer you up, point you in the right direction or, best of all, make you smile. We all have bad days, but the length of that time depends on you.

The photo is from when I met up for a socially distanced catch-up with my friend Carl. I was happy to have met Carl when he came up from the workshop one day and, being new to sales back then, some years later he is now Truck Sales Director for Bells Trucks and BLS. We remain firm friends, business partners and we are a massive support to each other when having a good laugh 20 years on!

We are living in unprecedented times and support comes in all sorts of different ways, shapes and sizes. You have to agree though, making others feel good often makes you feel good as well, right? And, what’s more, it is usually paid back 10 fold later on in life. While ever I have felt positive about life and work, that seems to infect those around me and has helped us all achieve.

Never forget you are a fantastic person, and by helping others selflessly, you are often helping yourself without you realising it!
