Today’s new vehicle is tomorrow’s used vehicle

Bit of a cryptic headline you may think but let me explain.

I’ve just read the following article online at UK Haulier and it’s got me pretty excited to be honest, and not just because it’s about one of my favourite topics of trucks!

Daimler’s work to develop hydrogen-powered fuel-cells to get ahead of the electrification race not only underlines its stance as one of the most forward-thinking companies in this field, but it also impacts dramatically on the used vehicles of the future.

And it’s not just Daimler that are forging ahead in this field. Many other manufacturers, including Iveco and Scania, are making massive inroads and investing millions to ensure a safe and emission-free future for our road haulage industry. In fact, both brands already have hydro cell vehicles out on the roads and they’re performing exceptionally well.

Today’s new vehicles (and there will soon be more and more electric ones) are tomorrow’s used vehicles and that really resonates with me. The ramifications for our industry are huge and we have a role to play in ensuring that they’re predominantly positive.

As manufacturers across the globe invest billions in all our futures, here at View Truck & Van we want to be part of this and support as best we can for everyone’s benefit. Are you on board?
